MEETING(S) IN PRESENCE// AVAILABILITY FOR TOUCH

with Nina Wehnert

October 31 - November 3

Through Body-Mind Centering® we will explore the availability for touch and presence through different tissues in our bodies. Structures, fluids and spaces will support our bodies and minds for meeting through Contact Improvisation. We will enter the (weight-)fullness of organs, the elasticity of connective tissue, the inner flow and pathways of fluids, the presence of cells and the clarity and structure of bones that will guide our movements - alone and in contact with a partner.

I am especially interested in moments during the dance in which we feel "being met" profoundly by our partner and by the shared moment. I am curious about places in our bodies that are available for receiving and letting go of contact. The availability for touch: our skin, extremities, organ surfaces, blood, heart.....

For the nourishing depth and richness in Contact Improvisation dances we will navigate along pathways of flow, resistance and ease with the support of our weight, tissues and inner spaces to follow the dance. With movement, touch, anatomical images and dialogue, we will journey through our body from an experiential perspective and use creativity and aspects of Body-Mind Centering® for entering Contact Improvisation dances.
